Our private classes are designed to provide a hands-on experience with clay to students of any level. Each class is 2-hours in length and is customized to fit the level of the student. These classes can be offered as a gift!
Feel free to get in touch if you wish for another day/time.
Hand-building: This class is designed to help you realize one personal project per session. For beginner students we will suggest two project options for you to choose from (eg. cups with handles or small plates/platters). For intermediate and advanced students we can assist you in realizing a personal project from start to finish.
Wheel throwing: This course provides an introduction to working on the pottery wheel. Students will learn the essential skills required to make a small cup or bowl. This is an “experiential” class, meaning the end result is not the primary focus of the class. Students have the option of keeping their best piece, to be trimmed, fired, and glazed by the Atelier Make team. Work will be ready for pick up 3-4 weeks after the class. For beginners the class provides an initial experience. For intermediate and advanced students this class is geared towards perfecting specific skills. If you are looking for a project-based class we recommend the handbuilding option.
