Come discover wheel throwing, on your own or with a friend! Our introductory classes are designed to provide a hands-on experience with wheel throwing to students of any level. Each course consists of two 2 ½-hour sessions. During the first session you will throw a series of small cups and bowls. You will keep your best 2 pieces. The following class you will trim those pieces and decorate them with underglaze. Following the class, we will fire your work and apply a coat of transparent glaze. It is important to understand that your first pieces of pottery will likely be rather thick and irregular. However, you will have fun making them, and you will get a sense of what is involved with the process of throwing on a potters wheel! Your work will be ready 3 to 4 weeks following the class date. Maximum 8 students per group.
