Botanical Printing on Clay : 4 weeks, 2.5 hours per week, materials included. Join us for a 4-week immersive handbuilding class where nature meets clay! In this class we will explore three distinct techniques for printing botanical imagery and patterns and illustrations on clay.
Together we will forage local botanicals in the side streets and alley ways around the studio. We will use our findings to create a series of patterns to be printed onto your handbuilding projects. Techniques include embossing with botanicals, underglaze printing, and image transfer onto clay. Each week will guide you through creative and tactile processes as we work with the natural world as our inspiration. Over the course of the class, you’ll handbuild a series of one-of-a-kind ceramic objects—inclusing mugs, vases, planters, platters, or wall décor—each imprinted with your own botanical designs.
This class is bilingual French/English. Maximum 10 students per group. Marie will be your teacher.
